Young ICT Explorers

Recently three teams of DGPS students were invited to present their ICT projects at the Young ICT Explorers judging event.  One of our teams won second place! Congratulations to Zheng Xi, Marti and Neel who entered a robotics project called Grab-bot. Special thanks to Patrick Leung who has been volunteering to help our students work on their projects and also volunteering to help us run our Advanced Robotics class. Read on to find out more about the competition. Maybe you can enter next year!

Young ICT Explorers is a non-profit competition, which has been created to encourage school students to create their best Information and Communication Technology (ICT) related projects.

The competition’s alignment with the school curriculum enables students to apply what they learn in their ICT/Digital Technologies classroom to develop a technology related project of their choice.  At the judging event, students have the opportunity to present their project to a judging panel of academia, industry partners and ICT professionals. Each project is assessed on the criteria of creativity, uniqueness, quality, level of difficulty and project documentation.
